Inspiration to Transformation

Although the topics that Illuminate seeks to share speak of darkness and can be difficult to hear, at times we need to ‘lighten up’ a little and use difficult issues to inspire and transform others with the hope of Christ. God has called Trish to share a message of truth, love, hope, and healing with women, youth, and families. She is humbled and honored to have people share how her teaching and experiences have changed their lives. The best part of her job is getting to hear people’s stories and share their lives, even for just a moment. Nothing brings her greater joy than to see a church leader strengthen their call to protect the flock, see a disconnected mother and daughter make a connection or, see a woman come to terms with her past in a way that brings hope to her future.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. – 1 Peter 2:9

It only takes a few minutes with Trish to see that she is a devoted Christ Follower. She is passionate about God, the Bible, and helping people discover Jesus on their own. Her passion and excitement for truth are evident in her teaching. She brings personal stories, and animated illustrations to her topics, which make the serious nature of her sessions, seem very friendly, relevant, and approachable.

DISCIPLESHIP TOPICS

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. – Psalm 119:105

Grab Your Lantern: Shining Light on the Next Generation

This talk includes Trish's heart-rending and powerful mother-daughter story and provides tools and new perspectives to reclaim your role as a woman, mother, or grandmother as outlined in Titus 2. Using the pain of her past she encourages women to strengthen the important relationships in life starting with multi-generational relationships inside your family or serving as a spiritual mother to the lost outside your home. This talk appeals to women of all ages and includes a strong call to action toward mentoring younger women.

Reflecting Christ: Implementing Spiritual Disciplines for Life

Using a mirror analogy, this topic challenges women to look at the image they have of themselves and God. How have the lies they believed about their identity in Christ hindered them from fully trusting His promises and plans for their lives? This talk appeals to women of all ages and includes a clear teaching on the spiritual disciplines to reclaim not only who you are but whose you are.

Journey to the Cross

This is a powerful event topic that asks attendees to walk in the footsteps of Jesus in a very visual and transformative way. Looking at Scripture in Jesus' last days, a gospel-focused presentation invites attendees to look at their own sin-the sin that put him on the cross. This event is designed for women and teens and is especially powerful at night combined with a confession bonfire. This topic can stand alone or make the perfect end to a women's retreat.

Empty Your Trash

There is power to overcome lies, sin, and addiction through confession. Empty your trash allows attendees to receive God’s gift of freedom and forgiveness. A Confession Bonfire offers an opportunity to confess sins to God and lay deep, dark, hidden sins at the foot of the cross and burn them away forever. I have seen healing and restoration and witnessed miracles at the Empty Your Trash Bonfire. An add-on creative art program uses ashes from the bonfire to create a tangible memory of the event. This topic is perfect for women and teens.

What past attendees are saying:

“I never had a spiritual mentor. My own mother was not a Christian and she was unavailable to teach me how to live life. If I didn’t get in trouble that was good enough. I am going to look for a Titus 2 woman in my life.”

– 35-year-old mother of four

“I believe in Jesus. I attend and serve in church but these spiritual disciplines I have learned will help me be more like Jesus. I’m excited to get started.”

– Women’s Ministry Director

“I appreciated how she wove Scripture into every part of her presentation. She values Biblical truth, and it shows. I would hire her again anytime to come and teach our women.”

– Pastor

“This was a powerful event. The sound of the cross dragging through the still night changed me forever. I had to lay down some things tonight that have been holding me captive. Thank you for doing this.”

– 58-year-old mother & Grandmother

“Why did I not know about confession? I have been in church my whole life. My dad is a pastor. I was never taught to confess my sins to Jesus. I am going to tell everyone what I have learned.”

– 12-year-old attendee

“I believe in Jesus. I attend and serve in church but these spiritual disciplines I have learned will help me be more like Jesus. I’m excited to get started.”

– Women’s Ministry Director
